OK, I live at the beach, work with and live with crazies, and my economy is in the pits. I want SOMETHING to go right, and I think getting into shape is one thing I CAN do. I sleep well, and I eat so-so. No physical problems I know of, or health obstacles to at least WALKING. Can you give me some baby steps? Anyone in the Ventura Area I can walk with occasionally?

Begin with walking and set a goal of walking every other day, and for 30 minutes for the first two weeks. Walk easy for 5 min then walk more briskly aggresively for 2 minutes. Follow the 2 minutes aggressive walk by 1 minute easy walk and repeat this 8 to 10 times (2 min brisk, 1 min easy) then walk easy for 5 min to cooldown.
On the in-between days, do some strength exercises. Start with two sets of walking lunges w/ no weight and double crunches (crunch and simultaneously lift knees/legs up and in as well). Perform slow repetitions and aim for 10 to 20.
