I am following the novice training program (on my own) and was wondering what a recovery day means exactly - no running/walking at all or just a more moderate walking? Thanks for clarifying!

Hi Martha,
For recovery days, if you are very sore or tired, then take a day off with no impactful training. If you feel ok, then do a very easy jog or walk - what I refer to as guilty easy meaning you feel like you should be going harder, yet don't! You want to make sure that you absorb the training you have done and go into your next specific training session fresh.
